Dr. Carmen Ramos, DDS, MS
Founder | Periodontist
Dr. Carmen Ramos is committed to delivering the highest quality periodontal care through precision, compassion, and innovation.
Raised as the eighth of eleven children, Dr. Ramos learned early the value of perseverance, discipline, and earning success through hard work. After receiving an academic scholarship and graduating near the top of her dental school class, she completed four additional years of advanced specialty training to fulfill her lifelong goal of becoming a periodontist.
During her residency at the VA–UCLA program, Dr. Ramos was honored by the California Society of Periodontists for Most Outstanding Research. She later served as an Associate Professor in UCLA’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry program and became a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
Dr. Ramos believes periodontics is an ever-evolving field. She considers herself a “forever student,” continually advancing her education and adopting state-of-the-art technology to provide minimally invasive, highly effective treatment, always delivered with a pampering, patient-centered approach.
Outside the office, Dr. Ramos enjoys hiking, camping, backpacking, and traveling with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Dr. Connie Lee, DDS, MS
Periodontist
Dr. Connie Lee received her dental education at NYU College of Dentistry and completed her periodontal specialty training at the UCLA School of Dentistry.
Before specializing, Dr. Lee practiced as a general dentist an experience that shaped her collaborative approach to patient care. She understands the importance of coordination between dental providers and physicians to achieve truly comprehensive outcomes.
Her mission is to create a safe, comfortable environment where patients feel confident, informed, and cared for. Dr. Lee is passionate about continually refining her skills to deliver optimal health, comfort, function, and aesthetic results.
She is fluent in Korean and conversational in Japanese and Spanish. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Lee enjoys reading and playing fingerstyle guitar.
Dr. Joan Otomo-Corgel, DDS, MPH, FACD, FICD
Clinical Professor | Periodontist
Dr. Joan Otomo-Corgel is a nationally and internationally recognized leader in periodontology, education, and research.
Her academic journey includes degrees from Fresno State University, UCLA School of Dentistry, and the UCLA School of Public Health, followed by advanced residency training in general practice and periodontics at the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center.
Dr. Otomo-Corgel currently serves as a Full Clinical Professor in UCLA’s Department of Periodontics and Chair of Periodontal Research at the Greater Los Angeles VA Health Care Center Dental Service.
She is a Past President of numerous prestigious organizations, including the American Academy of Periodontology, California Society of Periodontists, and Los Angeles Dental Society, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the California Dental Association.
A sought-after lecturer, Dr. Otomo-Corgel has authored over 60 peer-reviewed journals and textbook chapters, lecturing extensively on periodontal medicine, medical emergencies, and clinical periodontal advancements.
She resides in Manhattan Beach with her husband and family, where they enjoy an active, community-centered lifestyle.
